Hand made carpets are not made to any specific standard size, even the width to length ratios differ greatly.

The maximum size of handmade carpets is determined by the size of home based looms. For this reason the largest carpets available are around 8 square meters [85 square feet].

We measure our carpets from the beginning to the end of the pile both for the width and the length, we DO NOT include end fringes and side bindings.

the length and width of a genuine handmade carpet or kilims can vary from end to end or side to side. This is normal and a feature of many hand-woven carpets, it is a fault that cannot be reproduced on a machine made carpet.
